Power trío de teclados, bajo y bateria, entre la línea dura del rock y el prog, hay algo aquí para apaciguar a los aficionados de ambos estilos.
Un álbum que impresionó y sigue impresionando.
Los músicos, después de este grande disco, han despertado tanto interés de otros grupos que se separaron pronto después del lanzamiento del álbum.

Unos teclados, especialmente calientes de estilo a hacer recuerdar el tecladista Jean-Jacques Kravetz del grupo Frumpy, o tal vez a Dave Stewart en su fase mas demoníaca (oír "Dreams Wide Awake" para un ejemplo).
En la “Post War, Saturdat Echo”, se puede oír como el órgano es azotado, com una imprudencia que pone Keith Emerson a la vergüenza.

El bajista John Gustafson (pre-ROXY MUSIC y muchos otros), canta com una voz “maníaca y descontrolada” poniendo a menudo un sonido desgarrador en las canciones cantadas.

Hay un par de pistas (como la balada " Good Lord Knows" y la larga jam " Laughin' Tackle") que incluyen hartos arreglos de orquesta (sobre todo, de cuerdas).
En los años 90 apareció un QUATERMASS II, pero su música parece tener muy poco que ver con la banda original … su ultimo CD se llama "The Long Road" y es del 1997.
